We’ll visit the pretty village of Deià, once home to the writer Robert Graves, and follow the ancient Cami del Castello track through citrus groves. We’ll also head to enchanting Valldemosa and to the beautiful monastery at Lluc.
Harder Walks
7 to 10 miles using steeper and rougher paths.
Up to 2,200ft of ascent in a day.
The Tramuntana mountains offer stunning walks: we’ll follow the Archduke’s Path to Valldemosa, visiting the 1,064m summit of Teix and ascend the panoramic summit of L’Ofre descending by the Pilgrims Steps. We can also walk through peaceful mountain scenery to Lluc monastery.
Mountain Walking
Up to 12 miles
3,500ft of ascent
A special week offering more challenging walks in the Mallorcan mountains. Each day there will be a choice of Easier Walk plus a high level option which may include the summits of Massanella and the Alfabia Ridge.
Local transport
On some days the walks start and finish at the hotel. On other days we’ll use the hired transport to explore the surrounding area. The cost of transport to and from the walk is payable locally – see dates and prices for up to date costs.
Free day
Each week there is a free day when no guided walks are offered. This is an ideal opportunity to relax around the hotel, walk independently, or visit local places of interest – see the ‘Free Day’ section of this website for ideas of places to visit.
Puerto de Sóller, a small exclusive resort town, lies on the north western coastline of Majorca, nestling in a sheltered, almost circular bay surrounded by orange and lemon groves and ringed by mountains. A traditional tram system connects the resort to Sóller from where you can take a bus or train to Palma.
Shops & Facilities:
There are plenty of shops, bars and cafes in Puerto de Sóller, and the market on Saturdays in Sóller is also fun to browse around. Two small shops, close to the entrance of the hotel sell bread rolls, local cheeses and salamis which make ideal lunch snacks. In general not much English is spoken by shopkeepers and restaurant staff, but a smile and a few words of Spanish work wonders! |
