Board Basis: Half Board
Our experienced leaders offer the choice of two different walks each day

We provide flexible holidays. Choose easier walking one day and harder the next or just explore independently or relax around the resort
Our leaders are friendly and welcoming making your holiday fun and sociable.
Easier Walks:
Walks from Les Contamines all have outstanding views of the snow-capped Alpine peaks. We’ll walk on the slopes of Mont Blanc itself, discover the hidden Miage Valley, the clear waters of Lac Vert, and the lush meadows of the Val d’Joi, all of which have the added attraction of stops at mountain huts.
5 to 8 miles on generally well-graded ascents.
Up to 1,800ft of ascent in a day.
Harder Walks:
For mountain walkers, Les Contamines is the place to aim high. Our guided walks take in the most spectacular scenery including the the Taconnez and Bossons Glaciers, the towering cliffs of the Passy Nature Reserve, and Nid d’Aigle high on the slopes of Mont Blanc.
7 to 14 miles across rougher mountain terrain with some exposed sections.
Up to 4,400ft of ascent in a day.
On some days the walks start and finish at the hotel. On other days we’ll use the hired transport to explore the surrounding area. The cost of transport to and from the walk is payable locally.
Each week there is a free day when no guided walks are offered. This is an ideal opportunity to relax around the hotel, walk independently, or visit local places of interest.
The village of Les Contamines nestles in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,164 metres. The only road along the valley ends at Notre Dame de la Gorge, 2 miles beyond the village. On the east side of the valley lies the Mont Blanc massif, with its impressive glaciers. To the west lie the more rounded slopes of Mont Joly. In summer the area is very popular with walkers and the famous ‘Tour du Mont Blanc’ passes through the village.
Shops & Facilities:
On the main street you will find a good range of small shops: an ‘8 to 8’ supermarket, a bank, post office, outdoor shops, café / bars and the tourist office. Closer to the hotel (just over the road) there is a ‘superette’ (like a village shop in the UK), and a Produit Regionaux. Sports available locally include tennis, mini-golf, driving range, horse riding, cycle hire, pedalos, aerial walkways through the trees. Each week there is usually an evening concert in the church and an open-air concert in the village square starting at 9 pm
The coach transfer to Les Contamines takes 1 hour 30mins. |
